It has to its credit several award winning, critically acclaimed and popular commercially successful feature films like: Apaharan (2005), Gangaajal (2003), Mrityudand (1997), Parinati (1986), Damul (1984) and as well as award-winning documentaries like Sonal, Faces After The Storm, Kudiattam, and Looking Back. Other feature productions include Rahul (2001), Dil Kya Kare (1999) and Hip Hip Hurray (1983). To be recognized by the audience and the critics in equal measure has been Prakash Jha Productions strength.

Over the years, through this challenging journey of creating powerful and commercially viable cinema, Prakash Jha Productions has mastered the art of conceptualizing, producing, marketing and distributing award winning films in India and abroad. For various reasons, Prakash Jha Productions has become synonymous with the film director Prakash Jha and his unique brand of cinema – ‘Cinema with Power’. This is indeed a great reward. To take this tradition forward, Prakash Jha Productions envisages a wider creative horizon where it work and collaborate with other filmmakers across the globe. It would share its mantra of ‘Cinema with Power’. However, to connote collaborative creative effort with emphasis on fresh ideas, strong narrative, original plots across different genres, the company needed a new identity. Thus emerged Holi Cow Pictures – a company which would pilot fresh trails in cinema with commercial viability. Today this is more than possible because Indian cinema is bubbling with new ideas, new people and even newer markets.
