About Prakash Jha, a multiple award-winning independent filmmaker from India, has produced and directed nine feature films, over 25 documentaries, two television features and three television series. Some of his critically acclaimed films are Apaharan, Mrityudand, Parinati and Damul. He has also made Dil Kya Kare, Rahul and Hip Hip Hurray. Prakash Jha has won eight national awards. Most recently he has won the “National Award for the Best Feature Film on Other Social Issues” for GangaaJal in 2004.
